What works well
Specific, patient, worth grouping.
Which purchases suit a group price: specific items that can wait, at prices where a discount matters. And which don’t, for now.
Good fits
- A specific, comparable item: a brand and model, or close substitutes.
- A purchase that can wait days to weeks for a deadline.
- A price where a group discount matters: roughly $50 to $100 and up for now.
- Demand that recurs or bunches up: seasons, life events, upgrade cycles.
- Sellers with room on margin, such as retailers and distributors.
- Shipped within the buyer’s own market, for now.
Poor fits
- Urgent or perishable goods.
- Custom or one-off items.
- Services, for now.
- Regulated or restricted goods.
- Very cheap items, where a group discount is worth little.

Why these rules
A group price works when many people want the same comparable thing, can wait for a deadline, and the saving is worth the wait. Sellers need enough volume and margin to quote lower than their usual price. Anything else is still welcome as a Request; it is just less likely to get an Offer. Pricing for low-value orders is still being decided.
